Stumped for Valentine's Day?

In India, countless young women find themselves faced with this story: Fate has orphaned or cast her out of shelter without a dowry or a means to earn one. This state of desperation is common to many girls like her, and threatens her life and her health;without a marriage or means to support herself, options other than prostitution or death are few. february blog

Vocational training for girls like her is rare, and most who would profit from an education can't afford it. Profits from scarf sales go to pay for training for young women in the Sewing Micro‐Enterprise at House of Hope. A six month course teaches her everything she needs to know to sew professionally and run her own clothing business. From there, she can earn enough money for a marriage dowry or choose to support herself on her own.
House of Hope gives this girl another chance at life without sacrificing her reputation and helps her stand on her own two feet, one stitch at a time.
